It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia on July 28, 2017 at Luther Court in Victoria, B.C. Born in Watertown, South Dakota on June 11, 1930, Virginia is survived by her children Robert, Michael, Anne, and Mimi, and her sister Karen “Dickie” Bruce, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia attended the school of fine arts in Montreal and enjoyed painting and sculpting. She was able to connect with people on many levels and shared her sense of humor with all.
We would like to thank the entire staff at Luther Court for providing such amazing and heartfelt care for Virginia over the years.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Sonja Lindquist I am so sorry I did not know Ginny was in Victoria. We were fairly close at one time. I was very fond of her and I am very sad that I did not get to reconnect. I offer my sincerest condolences to her fiends and family.
Ginny was a fine person and one of my favourite relatives. I am a cousin. “Aunt Dicky” was Ginny’s grandmother and my grandmother, Regina, was Aunt Dicky’s sister.
Again, my condolences and best wishes to all.

Linda Mulley I met Virginia in Vermont in the mid-80’s. She was an exceptional person, gifted with rare insight which she shared generously with everyone seeking her advice and assistance, I among them. I will always be grateful to her.

Shirley Inget Virginia was a gift to us from the angels. They sent her with a generous spirit and great knowing and wisdom that she shared with us all.
She had such a clarity that she could see in an instant to the heart of a situation that was causing turmoil.
She loved to laugh, had a wicked sense of humour and brought with her a great joy. She welcomed any excuse for a celebration and I met her when she crashed a dinner party I was having. We became friends for life over wine, peaches, and chocolate cake.
She was a great teacher and always inspired me. I will miss her always but I am glad she is free now and there is a bright new star in the night sky.

Judi Bruce Miller I’m truly going to miss Aunt Ginny, or “Gintz” as her mother (Winkie) called her. We had some great times together when I was young and living in Oakville and as a young adult when she lived with Winnie in Tampa. We went to concerts (Petula Clark) and plays (Equus) in Toronto. We shopped and went to champagne brunches in Tampa. We did Tarot and eChing, took drives to the Gulf of Mexico and even looked for condos for her, Winkie a d Aunt Gigi. She taught me to look beyond the obvious and consider other realms of being. She was artistic, funny, bold, creative, spiritual and beautiful.
See you on the other side, where I’m sure you are Besties with all the beautiful, sentient beings of the Universe.
I miss you and love you Ginny

Dickie Bruce My beautiful sister was a one-of-a-kind person who only come along once in a lifetime. She had creative talent and was somewhat of a psychic. She followed the song and did life “my way”. I hope she has joined the goddesses and is happily smiling down upon us.
