After celebrating her 100th birthday in fine style at Berwick House with a message from the Queen, Wanda passed on December 26, 2015.  Wanda never married and did not have children, but as the last to survive of 10 siblings, there are many nephews and nieces stretched across Western Canada (over 30).

A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

My longest memory I have of Auntie Wanda is of when I was 7. We visited her in Victoria, stayed at her apartment, went for Sunday tea and a wax figure museum. But my longest memory of that trip is when she taught me how to warm dishes and properly set a table. I still smile to myself every dinner since that visit 43 years ago when I set a proper table.
She was and always will be remembered very fondly.
Rest in peace and say hi to my Dad!

  • Sandra Kyle, Team Leader, Berwick House

Wanda made every day at Berwick House fun, lively and interesting. She had a zest for life that is very rare these days. She always had a story to tell and was genuinely interested in the stories told by others. Wanda loved her tablemates in the Dining Room and they would sit for hours and talk about their lives. Wanda attended every Activity enthusiastically. We really miss her. I hope there are Chicken Wings in Heaven !!!!

  • Alanna

Wanda was truly a joy to serve at Berwick House. She brightened my day with her smile very often. I am going to miss hearing her stories, and putting Mr. Bean on the T.V. for her. Rest in peace Wanda, you will be missed by so many.
