Jan 13, 1947 – Oct 11, 2013

Wayne was born in Edmonton, AB. son of Duncan White and Gertrude (Hertzburg) White. He is survived by his two son’s Paul and Greg White and their families, his sister Wendy Wiseman and family, Gail and Larry White Jr. son of his deceased brother (Larry White Sr.). Wayne was well known for his sense of humor, kindness and generosity. He would put down whatever he was doing to help anyone in need. This also meant that he had many projects on the go at any given time. He spent his early adulthood as an accomplished drummer in his band (The Pendulums) and had the honor of playing with the likes of Manford Man and Stompin Tom Connors and many others. Wayne was true master craftsman upholsterer, the quality of his furniture is second to none. Often his sons could be seen stripping furniture in Grandma White’s seamstress workshop and later in his own shop in Gibbons, AB. Wayne’s motto of “You are only as good as your last job.” Motivated Wayne to perfection. Wayne died happy and content of natural causes doing what he loved best…tinkering in the back yard on a sunny day. He moved from Edmonton to Victoria to get to know his Grandchildren (Sienna 11, Annika 9, Gracie 4 and Anson 2) and lived with his son Greg and his grandchildren at their home in Oak Bay. Wayne will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for Wayne will be held Saturday Oct 19th at Willows Beach at 9 am.
