Willi Voht, 89, of Victoria BC, passed away on May 12, 2025, with his children by his side.
Willi was born in Tiegen, Ukraine, on October 7, 1935, and immigrated to Canada in 1956 with his mother and two sisters after a childhood in Germany. A talented athlete and artist, he especially loved gymnastics, soccer, and nature.
Canada immediately captured Willi’s heart. He became an avid fisherman, hunter, camper, and golfer who loved to skip stones and found joy in a family walk on Cadboro Bay beach. He was an active member of the Edelweiss Club for many years.
A caring father, Opa, brother, and friend, Willi will be lovingly remembered by his children Lisa (Jason), Steven, Angela (Skot), his granddaughters Madison, Hannah, and Zoë, his lifelong friend and former wife Betty, and sisters Elsa and Lena.
Too-da-loo Daddyo, xo.
The family will honour Willi’s memory privately. Donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC or a nature charity of your choice. Special thanks to the dedicated care team at Victoria Kiwanis Pavilion.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I played many rounds of golf with Willi at CedarHill Golf Course. He was always a gentleman with a subtle sense of humour and great smile. I am glad that my life trail crossed with Willi’s.
