Bill passed away peacefully on a sunny Sunday afternoon with his wife and son holding his hand, and surrounded by love from family and friends.

Bill was a lover of life, with a quirky sense of humour.  An entrepreneur, a brilliant cook, a motorcycle guy, a martial arts instructor, an outdoorsman, and a musician.  He cheered for the Canucks and the Lions, and he loved to sit in the warming sun with a spy novel.  A lifetime highlight was a 2015 culinary tour in Puglia, where he learned to make cappuccino old-style.

Bill was a proud father to Nathan (Devon) and loving husband to Dale, adored his newborn granddaughter Ainsley, fun uncle, loyal friend and family man. Though brutally honest at times, he truly believed one should treat others how you want to be treated.

A celebration of life will be arranged in the Spring. Please contact the family for details.

Sincere gratitude to all the health care providers and staff on 5 South at RJH who eased his final days.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Sending my condolences to Dale and Nathan

Bill was an awesome friend to me and also our dear friend Floyd who passed on 6 months ago. We met in Vancouver 50 years ago when I was 19. Bill had a passion for the outdoors and sports. Camping at Cowichan Lake or hiking the Juan De Fuca trail were some of the great memories that I have of Bill and Nathan. He loved the Lions, Seahawks and the Canucks.

Bill struck gold on New Years Eve 1977. I was there. That was when he met Dale. You cannot find a more loving and supportive partner as Dale. They were both blessed.

I hope I meet up with Bill someday in the cosmos. We can talk about the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup. I LOVE you Bill. Adios Amigo!
