Bill passed away peacefully on a sunny Sunday afternoon with his wife and son holding his hand, and surrounded by love from family and friends.
Bill was a lover of life, with a quirky sense of humour. An entrepreneur, a brilliant cook, a motorcycle guy, a martial arts instructor, an outdoorsman, and a musician. He cheered for the Canucks and the Lions, and he loved to sit in the warming sun with a spy novel. A lifetime highlight was a 2015 culinary tour in Puglia, where he learned to make cappuccino old-style.
Bill was a proud father to Nathan (Devon) and loving husband to Dale, adored his newborn granddaughter Ainsley, fun uncle, loyal friend and family man. Though brutally honest at times, he truly believed one should treat others how you want to be treated.
A celebration of life will be arranged in the Spring. Please contact the family for details.
Sincere gratitude to all the health care providers and staff on 5 South at RJH who eased his final days.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

So very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
Dale, it’s hard to imagine you without Bill nearby–I can only hope that the happy memories will triumph over the sense of loss, and soon. I’m so glad that you have Nathan and Ainsley to support you and remember with you. Lean on the sympathy of your fellow retirees, also! I pray for the peace of Bill’s soul and your consolation in his absence.
Dear Dale, Nathan and Ainsley,
Joe and I are sending you our most sincere condolences and holding you closely in our thoughts.
Happy memories make for hard goodbyes. Bill was one of a kind.
Love,
Joe and Anita
Sending sincere condolences to the family. May your happy memories help you through this sad time.
The family has lost a great father, husband, uncle, cousin, and human being. I have wonderful memories of all the cousins; we were all close at one time and Bill was a big part of my life in the seventies when we both lived in Vancouver; we remained good friends throughout our lives. I will truly miss him.
