After the war, Bill attended the University of Alberta where he received his degree in Physics. He was hired by Hughes Aircraft Company as an engineer, moved to California and worked in many capacities until his retirement. He returned to Victoria in 1983.
Bill was a man of many interests and accomplishments. He was a magician, photographer, woodworker and all around craftsman and was known for his grandfather clocks, carved chess pieces and stained glass creations. Always quick with a pun or joke, he had a twinkle in his eyes and an easy laugh. He will be remembered by all as a giving, kind and gentle man.
