William (Bill) Abbey, former resident of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, in Victoria, BC, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on January 11, 1932, in Eatonia, SK to Lester and Muriel Abbey.

Bill moved from Saskatchewan to Calgary in 1951, where he worked as a Registered Industrial Accountant (CMA) for Maple Leaf Petroleum and Imperial Oil. In 1961, he started the Calgary franchise of Manpower Temporary Services. The balance of his career was spent managing his Manpower operations in Calgary, as well as offices in Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria. Bill was a respected member of the Calgary business community for more than 45 years. After retiring, Bill and his wife Olivia enjoyed travelling and spending their winters in Arizona. He was an avid golfer, loved flying his airplane and an active member of the Rotary Club.

Bill is survived by, his beloved wife of 50 years Olivia, son Byron (Jill), daughter Dawn, grandchildren Michael, Dylan and Karly, great-granddaughter Skylar, sister Eleanor (Don), and brother Frank. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Bill will be honoured in private by his family.
