William (Bill) Venables, July 13, 1926. Bill passed away in Victoria after a brief illness with family constantly by his side. He was able to celebrate one last Christmas at home with the love of his life Juanita.
Bill was born in Port Alberni and served there as a volunteer firefighter in his younger days. He worked at Dockyard Sheet and Metal Division in Victoria for more than 30 years. He and Juanita loved telling stories of their travels to France, Central America, China, South Africa and parts in between. He was an avid outdoorsman and liked to say his greatest passions were hunting and playing cards but we all know it was really Nana. Another great family passion is Sproat Lake and Papa has left a wonderful legacy for his family there.
Bill was predeceased by his son Mark and granddaughter Marnie. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, sister Jean of Port Alberni, his daughter Lynne and son in law Ken, daughter in law Julie and grandchildren Kim (James), Dean (Melanie), Carli (Adam), Nolan (Davita) and 7 great grandchildren.
No service at his request.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
