STROUD, WILLIAM DAVID, CD, Major (Ret); on 24 July 2012 in his 84th year. Predeceased by his treasured sweetheart of 57 years, Marilyn Rae (Mitts) Stroud, and son William Bruce Stroud. Survived by daughters Patricia (Roger) Newton of Surrey; Sue, Dora, and Margaret; daughter-in-law Helen; seven fine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Ron (Marion), and many loving relations and friends. Very proud of his 31+ years of service in the RCAF and UNEF. Dave has gone to walk again, hand-in-hand with Marilyn, up mountain paths to the glaciers, as they had done so many beautiful times during their life together. Memorial Service to be held at 2 pm on Thursday, 9 August, at Brentwood Bay United Church. Donations to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit in lieu of flowers http://sphf.ca/donate/. Dave was m,y brother-in-law and someone that my husband and I and our children Liesa and Bradley loved dearly. He and Marilyn were sweethearts always and now will be together for eternity.
To the girls, Patty, Dora, Susan and Margie and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren I feel your pain and am sad for the sorrow that has been given to you at this time. Our journey will continue for a while down here but my hope is that we will be reunited again with all that have passed before us.What a great Reunion that is going to be.
