Passed away suddenly on April 27, 2026. He was born in Summerland, BC on January 23, 1946 and moved to Victoria with his family around the age of nine.
Predeceased by his parents Ronald and Jean and siblings Esther, Fred and Doug. He is survived by his three children; Teresa, Trevor (Vanessa), Tanya (Doug) and their mother and former spouse Linda, eight grandchildren, Cody, Brianna, Darian, Emma, Devon, Zack, Lexi, and Sasha; two siblings Barb and Bob, and many friends from the trucking industry, golf community, and his neighbourhood.
Dad was passionate about many things, especially buying motorcycles in his earlier years before shifting gears to buying and selling cars – so many that we eventually lost count! He loved spending time on the golf course, lighting up his work trucks and house with Christmas lights, and tending to his many hanging flower baskets.
In 1978, Bill purchased Nixon Bros. Truck Repairs, building it into one of the most recognized heavy-duty commercial transport repair shops on southern Vancouver Island. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his life; even after selling the business in 2019, he continued to work part-time being the first one to arrive each morning to open the gates. One of his greatest joys was working alongside his family – with his son Trevor joining as a teenager and later his two grandsons, Devon and Zack.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCalls, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 2:00pm.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I saddening to hear of Bill’s passing.
I first met Bill around 1992 when he and Trevor were servicing and repairing my trucks at Seagull Paving. Over the years, I also had the privilege of serving alongside Bill on the Board of Directors of the IEOA.
What always stood out to me was Bill’s honesty and fairness. Whenever I dropped off a truck, I knew that Bill and Trevor would give me the straight goods on what needed to be done. I never felt overcharged or taken advantage of. In an industry where trust means everything, Bill earned and kept that trust.
He was a hardworking, straightforward businessman who treated people fairly and built a reputation that was respected throughout the trucking community.
My sincere condolences to Trevor, Teresa, Tanya, and the entire family. Bill was one of the good ones, and he will be missed.
