It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wilma Eve Taylor. Willie passed away peacefully, at Victoria Hospice surrounded by her family, on December 15, 2023. Willie was born in Victoria on February 7, 1941 and spent her life in her hometown.

Willie will be remembered by her daughters Kellie (Don) Hall, Lori (Kevin) Bell and Lianne Houston. She was a loving Nana to her five grandchildren: Amy Bell, Cosmin Jeffrey, Alison and (Patrick) McBride, Sara and Hayden Houston. She will also be missed by her nephews Roy (Brandi) Taylor, Michael (Christa) Taylor, sister-in-law Pat Taylor and many wonderful friends.

Willie is a Past Worthy Matron of the Queen City Chapter Order of The Eastern Star, and a Past Queen of Miriam Temple #2 daughters of the Nile. These organizations gave her long-standing, wonderful friendships and pride in raising funds for Cancer and the Shrine Hospitals.

Mum will be remembered as a woman with the essence of love and kindness. A generous, loving and thoughtful woman with grace and dignity. She always had a smile for everyone.  Mum loved music, singing around the piano, dancing, and playing games. We will toast Mum this year at Christmas and celebrate her love for family and the holidays.

Very special thank you to Dr. Charlotte Mursell, family physician, for the wonderful care, the staff and caregivers at the Wellesley assisted living for the memories, Victoria Health unit nurses, and Victoria Hospice: Dr. Christine Jones, Dr. McGregor, Dr. Kara Schnieder, the amazing compassionate nurses, counsellors, and Volunteers who gave Mum the care and dignity in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre, at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on January 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospice.
