Passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 at Victoria Hospice with his beloved wife of 55 years and a good friend at his side. Born in 1931 in Germany, Wolfgang attended textile school and worked in his father’s company before immigrating to Canada. He attended McGill University and held positions in the financial departments of companies in Montreal and Vancouver. Married in 1957 to Carol Blackman, he moved his family to Switzerland in 1961 where he took over a textile business. In 1977 they emigrated to the States and built up a storage business in Texas. Returning to Canada 12 years later, they retired in Victoria. Wolfgang was a caring and generous person, energetic and always optimistic and cheerful. Predeceased by a son, Andreas, Wolfgang is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Michael (Alicia); grandchildren, Michael, Kyle and Sutton; two nephews, Thomas and Alexander and a niece, Michaela, and their families; and a step-mother, Hilde. Wolfgang will be especially missed by his loving family, his faith communities, the Broadmead Men’s Coffee Club and his neighbourhood.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 2:00 p.m. at McCall Bros. Funeral Home, 1400 Vancouver Street, with Rev. Doris Lewis of Unity Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victoria Hospice. Condolences may be offered below.

As I skyped with you the last time I could feel the bright variety of your human being. You had a great wisdom, open heart and always a good joke in stock.I will miss your sparkling energy, my uncle and a true friendship
