1913 – 2012

Our loving mother died peacefully on July 26th. Yet Ping Yuen (nee Chan) was born in Sun Poy, China. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her daughter, Jing and son, Ming to reunite with her husband, Chong Wing Yuen. In Victoria, she started a new life where her children, Lauren, Karen, Daryl and Sharyn were born. She was further blessed with son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived an amazing long life.

Forever grateful to the staff at the Victoria Chinatown Care Centre who gave her such special care. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    Lauren, Karen, Daryl and Sharyn

We all remember your mother as a calming influence with a very reasoned manner. Never raising her voice or losing control like most parents will do.

A consummate homemaker maintaining an immaculate house and always well dressed. Quiet, unassuming but very effective in her accomplishments. How fortunate to have a mother like that for almost 100 years although the last few years may not have been what you had hoped for.

We know that all of the good memories of your mother will get you through these difficult days and allow you to remember all of the wonderful times that you shared.

From your childhood neighbours and friends.

Karen, Lauren, Sharyn and Daryl (and families),
We’re very sorry that your mom has passed. How fortunate she was to have lived such a long life and was able to be a part of the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will all share with you many special memories of your mom.
(Karen looks so much like her!)
    We’re thinking of you.

Our thoughts are certainly with you all as you remember and cherish the memories of your Mother and Grandmother. The love and care that you all gave to her, especially in her later years, are a reflection the values of family that she must have imparted to you over her long life
