Yun Wing Chang passed away in Victoria, B.C. peacefully with family by his side on April 27, 2023, at the age of 99.

Yun Wing was born in Canton, China and fled to Hong Kong as a young adult to raise his family and work operating his own metal shop business, before immigrating to Canada with his wife Yeung Wai Ying in 1995. The rest of his life would be spent closer to his growing family and enjoying daily walks along the water, regular dim sum gatherings with children and grandchildren, celebrating milestones and connecting with friends. His family wish to express their gratitude to the staff at the Chinatown Care Centre who provided such wonderful care for him in his last years. He will be missed and is fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Yun Wing is survived by his sons John (Caroline), Whyte (Jennifer), Charles (Linda) and daughter, Sui Ling, and grandchildren Ryan (Tanya), Stephen, Trevor (Eugenia), Cynthia (Derek), Jason (Kristel), Cameron (Jenny), Melissa (Eric), Ashley (Matt), Derrick (Rachael), Holden, Haden, Hannah, Ga Wah (Yok Yee), Cici (Lup Dak), and 18 great-grandchildren.

Yun Wing is predeceased by his wife, Yeung Wai Ying and son, Edward Yiu Ming Cheung.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 1:00 pm, in the Sequoia Centre, at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Chinatown Care Centre in memory of Chang Yun Wing would be appreciated.
