The family of Cynthia Karen Borch announces her sudden passing with deep sadness.
She is survived by her children, Nelson, Curtis, and Samantha Chapman; her beloved grandson Sawyer; her cherished sister Lisa (Tim); her brothers, Graham (Linda), Nelson (Liz), and Michael (Andrea); her parents Vince and Carol; and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and friends. All mourn the loss of her.
Cynthia’s life was filled with passion and accomplishment. As an adult she furthered her education with a diploma from Okanagan University College, established a successful career with the Canada Revenue Agency, and completed the Kelowna Marathon. Throughout all these activities she provided, maintained, and renovated a home while raising three children as a single mom. Her intensely competitive spirit in sports and games was balanced by her ready laughter and her joy in life and music.
Cynthia will be remembered for her loving and affectionate heart, being quick to hug, and for improving everything and everyone she touched.
A Memorial Service and Reception for Cynthia will be held at McCall’s Downtown, 1400 Vancouver St., Victoria, B.C., Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M.

Cynthia was a great team member and always spoke with passion about her work. She was very knowledgeable, diligent, detail-oriented, and always tried to do things right. I could tell how much she loved her family by the smile she had when she spoke of them. She will be greatly missed.
We are very sorry to hear about Cynthia passing. Our condolances to Nelson, Currtis and Samantha and the rest of her family. Cynthia was a good friend and always there to talk to. She will be missed. I worked with her at CRA for many years and she was always supportive and understanding. She helpedme through many family issues with my step daughters and could always be relied on for a kind word and encouragement

We are utterly shocked and heartbroken to hear of Cynthia’s death. Our long-time bond with your family remains strong, and our hearts go out to all of you. The incredible closeness of your family will help you all through the difficult days to come, as there is little comfort to ease the pain of such a loss, except to remember and honour Cynthia as the dynamic, accomplished, and wonderful woman that she was. We offer our love and condolences to you all.
So sorry to hear of Cynthia’s passing, she was a wonderful lady, I had the pleasure of working with her years ago at KPMG . She is now among the angels in heaven. My deepest condolences, Lil Ettel
Cynthia trained me when I first started working at CRA. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and a great motivator. She always had a smile and it makes me smile thinking of her. She is and will be forever greatly missed around here.
My heart felt condolences to her family of whom she spoke often.
Cynthia was such a fun teammate on the Thunder Chicken’s softball team. She brought such a positive attitude to the diamond for ball practice and all of our games. She kept smiling and cheering us on even when she took a ball to the knee this season that would have put most of us in tears- she was such a tough girl! She will be greatly missed at our games.
I was fortunate enough to work with Cynthia for a few years in Kelowna. She was a pleasure to work with. She always had a story to share every day about her dealings with her kids. They kept her on her toes!! I remember cheering her on at the marathon and being so proud of her when she crossed the finish line. I know how hard she worked to accomplish that. I am so sorry for her family to have lost such a wonderful person.
My deepest sympathies to you, Nelson, Curtis and Samantha. We are so sorry for your loss and we treasured our time and being truly blessed to work and share a wonderful friendship with your mom. She is seriously missed. I will always remember her warm heart and the love and care that she took for her friends. I forever will have the picture in my head of your mom biking to my house for chats and wearing her neon coloured biking gear. She looked so cool. Such a wonderful person.

Cynthia was like a mother to me when I lived in Kelowna. She was always there for everyone and was one of the most kind people in the world. She treated me like a daughter and I always loved to see her on my visits. She will be missed very much and will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in paradise Cynthia. You are extremely loved and I will never forget you.
Love always

Dear Nelson & family,
Your mom obviously did a great job in bringing up a son as nice as you. May your hearts heal with time. Our prayers are with you.
