With profound sadness, we share that on Monday evening our beloved Danny broke on through to the other side. Dannyʼs four and a half year battle with cancer was fierce and he taught us many lessons with his approach to life and what lies beyond. We learned to be courageous, compassionate, almost fearless, live no day but today, and that no matter how dire a situation might seem, life is always better when one has a giant burnt martini accompanied with a big belly laugh.
Born to Irving and Patricia Moldowan (deceased), Dan was an immeasurably loving husband to Nancy, a father and best friend to Jason and his darling wife Mary, a devoted brother to Laura, Bob (Janine) & Rick (Marilyn), son in law to Craig, brother in law to Devon (Viche), Uncle to Lucas, Leah, Sarah (Gord), Carla (Michael), Krista (Dieter), and Megan, and happily related to Bunty, Greg & Steve. He was loved by many cousins and extended family and was like a “dad” to all his Boxing Day kids. He considered himself blessed to have life long friendships both personally and professionally which he treasured and nurtured with his open heart and easy manner.
We hope that you will join us in a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm, Tuesday October 4th, at the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.

Dearest Dan……although half a lifetime has passed since you were a part of my life, it doesn’t lessen the heartache in learning of your passing. Such is the impact you undoubtably had on all who were lucky enough to know you. My heart goes out to your loved ones during this time of unimaginable pain.
I have kept memories of you in my heart for 26 years – & they will stay there forever. Rest in peace my friend.
Nancy

Sorry to hear this news. Rick had been keeping us informed about Dan’s journey over the past few years.
It was nice to see him and Nancy at Deborah and Rick’s big birthday party a few years back. Take care.
The hurt just stays…and I marvel at the fathomless love of Dan and Nancy.Your heartfelt caring commitment and tenderness is inspirational Nancy as is Jason and Mary’s.No one could have given more to alleviate his suffering.Dan never lost his unpretentious warm,non-complaining welcoming manner and integrity. He will be remembered for this and for successfully achieving excellence at home, athletics and work.
No one was a better father nor had a more encouraging, caring wife.May she and family, in biblical terms, experience the peace that passes all understanding…Love Dad.
Nancy, Jason and Mary, and Family. Although we only met Danny a few short years ago he was always a wonderful source of laughter, a smile, or a great conversation. We feel blessed to have known. We will forever remember the times we had. We are truly sorry for your loss and our deepest sympathies are with you.
Danny, even though we lost touch over the years, I remember you well when we hung out in the same group in our early 20’s and what I remember most is that you were fun but wise… you were always there with a knowing smile, a calm attitude and would have words of wisdom to share just when I needed them the most. You had the kindest heart but were a strong person to lean on. I know all your buddies from high school are going to miss you. With the ripple effect Dan has had on our lives, I can’t even image the pain that those close to him are going through at this time. I am so sorry Nancy for your loss, losing a life partner and soul mate is one of the most devastating things imaginable. And to Jason for losing a father who was truly devoted and loving. My condolences as well to all Dan’s family and friends who’s life will be just a little dimmer with this loss. God bless and on to an even more joyful life in heaven!
Dear Dan,
…….Growing up on 32 nd ave…my earliest memories are of you and my little sister Nancy becoming best friends and inseparable! The wonderful carefree summers playing all together….the winters with snow with our sleds sliding down our street…. My sister’s best friend became my sister’s beloved husband…and for forever her best friend.. I am so proud how your son Jason has become a wonderful, strong man, a loving husband to his wonderful wife Mary, that refects your love for him and for Nancy. No one could cherish and nurture his family more than you…
You are here in our hearts always…
With all our love, Devon and Vice
Dearest Dan
I don’t know if words are enough to describe how much you mean to me. You have welcomed us into your family with unconditional love and unwavering support.
Because of you ,Nancy ,Jason and Mary I know now what family looks like. I will always remember your larger than life laugh, your generous nature and the way you adored your wife and cherished your son.
You will be greatly missed but never forgotten .
And one of the reasons for this , is that Nathan never stops talking about his beloved uncle Dan.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Rest in peace Dan
Love forever and always Jennifer Amber and Nathan
Nancy, Jason and family. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss.
Dan was the kindest, most generous person I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside. I will miss my DMO so much!
My thoughts are with you now and when I look back at my times with Dan, I do so with a smile on my face.
