It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our son/brother, Darryl, on February 21, 2016. Darryl Harvey Knelsen was born February 8, 1973 in Fort St. James, B.C.

He was predeceased by his father, George Harvey Knelsen and his brother, Dustin Dean Knelsen. Darryl is survived by his mother, Eddy Darlene Ashe; stepmother, Norma Arnold  as well as stepparents, Richard and Tess DeMarco.

He leaves behind his five beautiful daughters, his siblings and their families; Stacey, Ryan, Jason, Leanne and David.

He will be remembered for his tattoos (that held such meaning to him), his undying love for Aerosmith, his appreciation for Vietnam and his passion for cooking and fine food!

He had a bold personality and a heart of gold!

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Sequoia Gardens Memorial, 4665 Falaise Drive in Victoria with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive.  Please join us afterward to celebrate Darryl’s life with coffee, tea and desserts at Sequoia Gardens Memorial.

  1. My condolences to his daughters, wife, family and friends. It is with deep sorrow I write this: ‘(the father of my children grew up with late Darryl and talked about him quite a few times. I can’t find the strength to tell Dennis that his childhood goalie has passed on … RIP DHK
