It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. David Scott, beloved son, brother, and uncle, on September 14, 2025, in Victoria, British Columbia. He was 54 years old.
David was born in Hinton, Alberta, to parents Sharon and Herb Scott, and grew up alongside his sisters, Allana and Laurel Scott. After completing his studies at the University of Alberta, David dedicated his career to dentistry, establishing a successful practice in Sidney, B.C., where he cared for patients and built lasting relationships over the past 30 years.
Beyond his professional life, David was a devoted family member who took great pride in his role as an uncle. He leaves behind his cherished nieces, Aryn Scott-Stretch and Jordyn Brandle, and his nephew, Logan Scott, who will always remember his warmth, sense of humor, and support.
David was a highly accomplished musician, being able to play any genre of music on his guitar. His most cherished possession was his collection of guitars. David was also a talented athlete, playing hockey and football at Notre Dame College. He was passionate about weightlifting and fitness throughout his life.
David will be remembered for his generosity, infectious laugh, commitment to his family and the impact he made on the lives of so many—both in his family and in his community.
A private family gathering will be held in his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in David’s honor.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I just learned today that David Scott passed away on my appointment at his office (February 18, 2026)
David was my Dentist for 30 years, he did all of my Fillings and Crowns and did an excellent job.
I last talked to David in August 2025 as he examined my teeth, saying that I would have my teeth until I left the world. {“Thanks to David”} I am in Total Shock and Dismay about the loss of David. He become a trusted friend to me someone I always looked up to because of his first class talent. What a Beautiful caring Friend a Huge Loss . Bye David till we met again.

What a devastating loss. A great dentist and I’ll never forget his positive and relaxed demeanour while working on my teeth. In my elder years he complimented me on the health of my teeth! He was an asset to dentistry. I didn’t know him personally and hope he knew his patients (both my husband and I) really liked him and share in the sorrow of his passing. Shocking.
Condolences to all his family & friends. RIP Dr Scott.
I am so sorry for your loss. Haven’t seen David for years but will always remember our friendship from junior high and high school. Had lots of laughs, enjoyed listening to music together. I remember how much he loved his car and how clean he kept it!!
I am devastated at the loss of my friend David. I thought someone was playing a game on me about his passing. We enjoyed talking guitars and music when I was in. So sad

He was a character to be remembered for sure! He never scolded me about the condition of my teeth and was the most pain free dentist I ever had. I know he rated that high on his list for patient comfort . I did not know his background so reading about him in his obituary made me smile to read of all his other life accomplishments. Your family connection seems very deep so please accept my sincere condolences and prayers for peace in his passing. We will miss him in Sidney.
My condolences to the Scott family on the passing of Dr. Scott.. He was my dentist for 15+years & I always enjoyed our chats about travel & sports. I certainly will miss his Ford Shelby truck in the back parking lot.
Allana & Laurel and Families,
Sincere condolences to you and your families.
We will always remember our precious visits with Dave whenever he was in Calgary.
We laughed and reminisced and hugged. What a special brother, uncle and friend and what a loss.
We care and share in your grief.
