Sadly we announce the passing of our beloved Jerry.
He died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him.
Jerry was born 16th September 1935 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. He had a successful and enjoyable 27-year career in the Navy. Most of his career as a PERI, Physical Education and Recreation Instructor. He was passionate about all sports, especially football, rugby, squash and hockey. After retirement from the RCN, he drove a city bus for the city of Saskatoon for 13 years. After retiring from this last position, he and his wife Arlene returned to Victoria to be near family.
Jerry was an avid cyclist and golfer. His greatest joy was having family gatherings and meeting with friends.
Jerry will be very much missed by his wife of 63 years, Arlene, his sons Neil (Laurey), Shawn (Donna), Bob (Caroline) and daughter Terri (Dave) as well as his brothers Bob, Melvin and Larry (predeceased).
Also mourning his loss are his ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date at a time when we can all gather together. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

If I am not mistaken Jerry went to the same Buena Vista School in Saskatoon that I went to. And I believe my husband, Rolly, knew Jerry in the Navy. May I offer my sincere condolences in Jerry’s passing. Always so sad to lose a loved one.
Dear Arlene & Family, Bob & I are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed our lunches when we came to Victoria. If this virus ever goes away, we will be out to see the kids & will phone you for lunch. We sent a card, but got it back saying you moved. Our sincere condolences.
Dear Arlie and the whole family, we are deeply saddened to hear of Jerry’s passing, we just cannot believe he is gone onto his next journey already. Always adventurous with a wonderful kind and open heart of sharing laughter, meals, games, his home and wonderful hugs! Jerry always made us feel like family and treated our boy to his wonderful grandpa love and laughter, well we all had many a laugh with this wonderful dad, grandpa, brother and true friend. We will miss him deeply. We’re surrounding you Arlie, and the whole family, with love and wrap-around hugs from our hearts to yours. Love, Deb, Glen & Niko

My sincere condolences to Arlene and family. My fondest memory of Jerry when we were in Borden was when he volunteered to be the equipment manager for both the CFB Borden Midgets and CFB Borden Braves hockey teams that I had coached. Jerry was the best equipment manager that any team would want. A guy with a happy lovable smile . he will be sorely missed. R.I.P

So sorry for you Arlene and family. Roberto and I got some great cycling with him and some great jokes. Was it Gerry’s or Roberto’s the best jokes, they kept at it, so funny, good times.
I will also miss him a lot. My condolences to the whole big family. Stay safe.

Our condolences to Arlene and family.
Rest in Peace.
Gwen and I were greatly saddened to learn of Jerry’s passing. We live in the UK but shared living with Jerry and Arlene in Rockland, Victoria for many years and they came to stay with us in England. Jerry was a fun kind of guy and we are grateful for sharing his humour and teaching us to play “Hand & Foot” card game.
