At the age of 64, Grant Undershute was promoted into the presence of the Lord at his home in Victoria, BC on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Grant was born on January 12, 1946 in Eston, Saskatchewan and grew up in Isham, where he discovered the freedom of adventure, which he applied all through his adult life. Those around him loved his spontaneity, humour and passion for life. Childhood sweethearts, Grant and Lenna, reunited in 1990 and married at the Isham farm July 3, 1994. As a mechanical engineer, Grant had offices in Calgary, Kelowna and Vancouver slowly migrating to the West, ultimately reaching his dream destination of Victoria, BC where he practised for 22 years. He was always an active member in various organizations such as Victoria Full Gospel Fellowship, ASHRAE, Cool-Aid Society, The Mood Swing Orchestra, Victoria Golf Club and the Sterling Men’s Group.
He is survived by his wife, Lenna; his children, Jolaine, Luraina, Jeremy and
stepchildren, Danton, Cheri and Twyla.
A Memorial Service is being held at l:00 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Grant’s memory would be appreciated to Victoria Hospice, 1510 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8S 5J2. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.
We bid farewell to our loving husband, father and friend;
Generous, humorous, always having a hand to lend.
He will be missed but we know he is free
In Heaven by Jesus’ side now forever he will be.

Grant was a dedicated and compassionate man. He brought many of his friends closer together in his life, and even in his passing. With great respect for Grant, and thanks to the family that shared him with us. May treasured memories temper your feelings of loss.

sorry to hear about Grants passing , we had a lot of business dealings over the recent years but had more fun talking about you and him in Fiji ,,,, he will be missed and I will think about him while in Fiji next year …
As a contractor, I worked on many of Grant’s mechanical systems designs. Over the years, we developed a friendship that I enjoyed and appreciated very much. Grant was a wonderful human being, considerate to others always, his humor injected into just about every circumstance left me smiling every time we spoke. Grant is a man for whom I have tremendous respect…I will miss him but I will never forget him..
I would like to pass my warm regards to Grant’s family during this difficult time.
I was greatly saddened to have learned of Grant’s passing last week. Having known Grant since he arrived on the Island, he and I enjoyed a great business relationship over the years which deveolped into a friendship. I was at his service on Saturday and was deeply moved by the stories related by his family. Especially those of his children. It showed how much of an effect he had on his family and his friends. He was a gentleman; honest and true. He will be missed. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.
Lenna and Family,
Sorry to hear of Grant’s passing. I know he will be in the arms of the Lord. He was a fine man.

I worked for Grant on one of my co-op work terms. He was a great guy to work for — a lot of fun and with a great sense of humour. Grant, I’m thinking of you today.
Dear Lenna and family,
Your are in our hearts during this very sad and difficult time. Your Faith and Love of the Lord will be a great comfort to you as well as your wonderful family and friends. With our sympathy and much Love Linda and Lorne
I shared the verse with Grant “for me to live is Christ and to die is gain” and he indicated to me that he was well prepared to meet His Master, even though parting from this family and loved ones was difficult. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lenna and family but we do look forward to a great reunion one day.
Love and blessings, Ron and Dorothy
Dear Lenna & family, all Grant’s family & friends,
May you all be strengthened and comforted today as you say good-bye to your dear husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Grant enjoyed life to the full in many capacities with music, acting up and fun for everyone around him. He was part of our family from a very early age and always fitted in with his sense of humour and zest for life! Thank you Grant for sharing your life with my family and welcoming us into your home on many occasions, blessing us all with love and acceptance. I appreciate being part of your life and will remember you always.
Much love and God’s blessings from
