Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 58 on May 3, 2010. Predeceased by his father, Walter; brother, Walter; stepfather, Walter Hartman and father-in-law, Robert Elliott. Jerry is survived by his loving soulmate of 30 years, Marg Elliott, his pride and joy; son, Jason (Cathy) and his mother, Sophie Hartman. After graduating from Victoria High School in 1969, Jerry ventured to the big city of Toronto, Ontario, where he became the youngest manager of Dominion Stores. He spent 20 years in Ontario where he met the love of his life Marg. Jerry and Marg returned to Victoria in 1989 to raise their one and only son, Jason. He made many friends and lasting impressions, where ever he went throughout his life. He will be remembered by many young employees as a mentor. The family would like to thank Ken Davies, our rock; Stan and all the staff at Thrifty Foods; Bob and staff at Canadian Western Bank; Jerry’s best bud, John; Berta and the girls whom he adored. Thank you to all his friends and staff at the Great Canadian Casino. Jerry enjoyed his time playing cards with all of you! He will be dearly missed by all the family and friends in Ontario. Special thanks to the Palliative/Hospice Team for their kind care and support.

Dear Marg, we are so saddened to hear Jerry has passed. We just got back from Vegas last night and deeply regret that we didn’t get to attend the service to honour Jerry. Please accept our deepeset sympathy. Love to you and all of the family. We will still look for Jerry every time we walk into to casino. Perhaps he will now become one of the poker “gods” we are always praying too!
We will miss Jerry Rico Sauve!
