Mary Gertrude Cloutier “Trudy” (nee Conway)

April 30 1940 – 18 Nov 2012

Born in Colliers,C.B. Nfld.

It is with extreme sadness and shock that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Trudy. She is survived by Frank (her husband of 52 years) son Rick, daughter Debbie (Jim) Shawcross, grandsons Andrew, Lucas and Noah. She leaves behind her siblings Elizabeth, Anne, Marion and Patrick of Newfoundland and many other family and friends across Canada. She was an active member of the square dance clubs Rocking Squares, Ferris Wheelers and Promenaders. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and taking her dog Holly for walks. She never had a bad word to say about any one. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was loved by everyone she knew. We will miss her dearly.

A service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace – Esquimalt, 851 Old Esquimalt Road, on Friday, November 23rd at 12:10 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

  2. Frank and Family Members – on behalf of myself, Isabell and our family members we wish to express our deepest condolence on the sudden passing of Trudy. We remember, with pride, the first time we met in Germany many years ago and how the smile of Trudy, her wit and pleasant personality impressed all of us, and the family friendship that developed from that meeting. Know our thoughts and prayers and with you at this difficult time.

    Kindest Regards

  7. Dear Frank, Debbie and Rick, we were very saddened to hear of Trudy’s passing.

Trudy was an exceptional person. She had great qualities and talents and her Newfoundland self depreciating manor endeared her to everyone she met. Her friends and family were blessed to enjoy these qualities. She enjoyed being kidded and we used to kid her a lot. Trudy was an exceptionally honest person who sought out the best in others. She was always jovial and fun to be around.

We will always have great memories of our family get-togethers.

    We will all miss her.

May all your memories keep her close to you at this time.

    Love
Frank and Murielle, Geoffrey, Marnie, Brooke and Noah, Michelle, Ryan, Avery and Eward

  8. Frank and Family,

On behalf of my mother (Hilda) and all of our family, may we send our warmest thoughts of Trudy. Trudy was my mother’s best friend over the past 50 years! They talked over the phone every Sunday; those conversations will be sorely missed. Her sense of humour and happy disposition will be missed so much.

Our thoughts are with you all at this time of grief.
