  1. Dear Fred and family,

It is with deep regret than we learned of Mary’s death. It was with great pleasure that we spent some time with her in our visit to Victoria in August 2009. It was important for me to meet her and thank her not only because of her expertise and excellent care she gave to our patients at the Cardiac Unit, but also because she was a source of inspiration on how to be a warm doctor.
    Thank you Mary

I was so saddened to read of Mary’s recent death. You have lost a dear wife, and mother and I have lost a wonderful friend of over fifty years. My sincere condolences to all of you.

  3. As President of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Patient Alumni I wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Clinckett family for your loss. Mary Clinckett was the founder of the UOHI Alumni, an association of former patients. It continues to thrive today after more than 25 years with over 3,000 members. The Alumni created the Mary Clinckett Award some years ago and it is presented on an annual basis to recognize exceptional contributions by Heart Institute nursing, administrative, support or volunteer personnel. It is considered a very prestigious award and recipients are very proud to receive it.

  4. Remembering a gracious, elegant, super-capable lady with a mischievous sense of humour, and four little children tumbling one by one out of the Clinckett cottage on Second St, fresh from their baths.

  6. I was very much saddened to hear of “Biddy’s” passing (please forgive me, but that was the nickname we Snellings came to know her by). My thoughts and prayers go out to you all – her loving family of whom she was so proud.

  7. Dear Jane and Fred (Good Doctor FRC)
We are thinking of you in your loss. I met your mother only two or three times but she made a lasting impression of generosity of spirit and of having a great sense of humour.

    Love,

  9. Dear Fred & FAMILY, Please accept our deepest sympathy on Mary’s passing. Mary designed the prevention and rehabilitation floor for the heart institute and indeed developed the program; this program and facility remain unequalled in Canada. During our long association we became wonderful friends. She kept me updated through Anne on the H.I. retirement contingent in Victoria. She will always hold a very special place in my heart and mind. We will miss her greatly. Sincerely Wilbert & Anne

  10. Dear Clinckett Family
I would like to add my condolences on the loss of such a grand lady. I have many fond memories of life on Parkdale Ave. Jane, you and I spent many hours together and I can’t forget the look we would get when we did something wrong. She never yelled but we knew we were in trouble. She sure made the best oatmeal cookies.
Jane if you are still in Ottawa please give me a call and we can get together and remember old times. We are still in Mallorytown. Love to all of you Renee
