Fred was an ardent fisherman and hunter, and after 33 years in the Victoria Fire Department, spent many long hours in his garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

I was shocked and saddened to read about Fred yesterday. Ever since I have been flooded wit memories of all the time spent with him and your family. I know Ray would be sad if he was still with us. The pool ,the BBQs the fish the dill pickles
Bamfield fishing……it goes on and on. He will leave a hole in many hearts especially yours.
There is no more challenging time in life than losing a loved one but we all heal over time remember this when things are tough.

Shirley and Family, My family and I have wonderful memories of our times spent together with you all through the early years. We valued you all as good friends. I know that Fred was well liked, a man of his word and if you were his friend you counted yourself lucky. I know he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mike said he was his favourite fishing friend, as he knew all the great places to catch fish and enjoyed trips with Fred to special places and always came home with a catch.
May all your special and wonderful memories surround you in love as you go forward.
We are deeply saddened by Fred’s passing. His gruff exterior and kind heart will be truly missed.
I will miss our chats and his stories about boating and fishing. Our hearts go out to you Shirley and your family. Our deepest condolences.
