Suddenly at his daughter’s residence in Victoria, BC, very well respected Dr. George Skelly passed away. Born in Saintfield, Northern Ireland on February 15, 1930, George was predeceased by his father, Hugh; Sister, Ina and his favourite uncle, Johnny.
George is lovingly remembered by his wife, Laura; three children, Siobhan (Rob), Patrick (Myriam) and Jonathan (Jennifer); four grandchildren, Nicola, Meaghan Tessa and Liliane; brother, Hugh; and sister, Pearl. He is also remembered by Alison (Jim) Ditomassi; his nieces, Janet and Babs; as well as his extended family, friends and patients.
A Memorial Service was held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Victoria BC. A future celebration of George’s Life will be held in The Pas, Mb.

Our deepest sympathy to Dr. Skelly’s wife and family. He was not just a town doctors to me and my family he delivered one of my babies , stitched heads, dealt with colds and scarlet fever and he did all this with caring and concern no matter how tired or how long he had worked. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. Dr. Skelly was my hero and he will be dearly missed.

I enjoyed working with George for many yrs in the Snow Lake Clinic and continued to be friends and kept in touch. He was always such a people person, talked highly of his children, grandchildren and Laura. We will really miss him as others will. Our sincere sympathy to Laura, his 3 children, grandchildren and families. A big loss for everyone.

Mr. Doctor Skelly was a man that cared so much for the people he cared for. He not only saved my sons life but he continued to follow up on my boy to make sure he was healthy as can be. If it wasn’t for Doctor Skelly I would probably be without my boy and for that I owe everything to him and am so sad that he has passed. RIP doc you are my hero.
Dr. George was truly a scholar and a gentleman. He was a kind , caring and compassionate man, Always the professional it was a pleasure to work with him and a joy to be associated with him . During his 10 years in Snow Lake he was greatly appreciated as a Dr. and a friend. Sincere condolences to his family
