  1. I will miss Scott greatly after working beside him for so long.
    Goodbye my friend.
    The other Scott.

  2. I was very much saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him on several Forest Service committees and projects and always found Scott to be willingly helpful and supportive. For me, Scott was a guy you could call for help on any of our myriad of technological problems and you always got practical answers and solutions. I always admired Scott for his quick responses and support. I always loved his great sense of humor which made working on issues so much more delightful. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the friends and family.

  3. To all Scott’s family and friends, I offer my heartfelt condolences to you all, and hope you find comfort in all of these words. Scott was an integral member of the BCTS family, he put his mark on numerous projects/teams over his years, always with a smile, attention to detail, his quick wit and “hey but did you ever think about this?” He will truly be missed by all that were lucky enough to know him. sorrow is deep felt in the heart, not thru words, thou memories are treasures to hold onto. Hugs to all of his family and friends.

  4. Not sure what to tell you my friend. There is nobody that I knew for so long and seen for so little that I miss so much. Conversations over the phone will not be the same any more. Remember “A short one” and then a lough.
    Rest in Peace my friend.

  5. Scott, you were always a huge help to me as I am sure you were to the thousands more of us working around the province. You were always friendly and professional and your help was always valuable and much appreciated. I am sure there are still many, like myself, shocked by your sudden passing. Thank you for taking the time over the years to always help work through whatever problem or issue was pressing at the time. Your sudden passing is a huge loss for the Forest Service family. You will be missed.

To Scott’s family, I am so sorry that Scott left this world far too soon, it is never fair when the good people go well before their time. He will be dearly missed. My deepest condolences to you during this very difficult time.

    Sincerely,
    Trevor

  6. Scott. I am sad now that I understand you are gone. We had some good times together in the Duncan River reforesting Rory Creek. Remember golfing in the dark and I got that 10 foot putt using Bob’s cell phone! Your insights into life will be missed. I never understood computers, still don’t, but you took a shine to them. Thanks for all your help over the years. I will remember you as always thoughtful and measured; as a former work mate and golfing buddy back in the day. Only time will tell and heal the loss your family feels. My heart is with you all. Be well. Hug each other. Take the time you all need to reflect and remember Scott.

  7. I was tremendously saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Scott over the past six years and I always knew him to be a reliable and solid contributor with a great sense of humour. We have lost a good man, my sincerest condolences to his family, he was a bright light and I know he will be missed.

  8. I was so sorry to receive the news of Scott’s passing. Although I did not work directly with Scott, I did have the pleasure of recently being on a working group with him and I will remember him as a doer and innovator within our organization who always strived to make things work better for us. He will be greatly missed.

  9. To the family and friends of Scott, I want to pass along my heartfelt condolences from Scott’s passing. As I’m sure anyone who ever worked with Scott will attest, he was a wonderful and sincere person to work with. If I was attending a meeting and I saw Scott’s name on the list of attendees, it always made me feel better about the meeting from the start. And even more so, I found him a delight to be around after work. He will truly be missed.

  10. So saddened by this news. Scott’s a great guy. I first met Scott in 1991 and worked for/with him in the Kootenay lake Forest District where we rehabilitated and planted thousands of hectares of NSR land over 6 (or more) years. He was the Silviculture Technician there at the time. We logged hundreds of hours together up the Duncan River valley. Scott’s keen business sense, attention to detail and ability to see the big picture made the project a success and a pleasure to work for. Scott had a great sense of humour and we shared many a laugh together over a couple of beers after work. We fostered a friendship that lasted until today. The last time I saw him was March 2015 at the BCTS headquarters in Victoria. He was so looking forward to retiring. We planned to do a fishing up here in Terrace. Rest in Peace Scott 🙁
