I haven’t been to many Victoria quilting guild meetings lately but for all the tears I was a member Shirley was the epitome of a contributing member. You could run out of adjectives trying to describe the number of positions she held, always with grace, competence and such good humour. Steadfast, generous, creative and undaunted come to mind. I can’t begin to imagine the the depth of the loss to you as her family. You have my deepest sympathy.
I was so happy to get to know Shirley at the Victoria Quilters Guild even if it was only over the past 2 years. She was always generous with her knowledge and time. My sincere condolences to her family. Shirley will be missed by everyone that met her.
Shirley was such a wise and guiding light at the guild. I had the great pleasure of working with her over many years on the executive and several committees. Her love of quilting was contagious, she always had funny stories to tell and she and Jack were endlessly gracious with their hospitality.
I must admit I thought Shirley would go on forever and the world was a better place for her being in it. To Jack, and all her family, my most sincere condolences. Thank you for sharing your Shirley with us all.

I feel so, so very lucky to have gotten to know Shirley. She was so generous with her time, her talents and her enthusiasm. Just an all around giving person and I will well and truly miss her grace and her advice.
It seems like cold comfort to say that she’ll live on in the hearts of those that loved and cared for her when she’s not there to hold and cherish. My heartfelt condolences to her family and all who loved her.
