  1. Tom will be missed by thousands. His legacy is vast and wide. His care of my parents and being a friend to dad is something I will never forget. He was theirs and my guardian angel. I tell my student’s parents it is more important to raise kind, compassionate and generous kids. I used Tom as an example many times.
    Condolences to the extended family.

I have just been told about Tom’s death and I wanted to let you know how lucky I felt having you both at SL. Tom was such a decent, willing and helpful neighbour and I was sorry when you decided to move;. I admired the twinkle in his eye and his helpfulness at Esso when I stopped by. Your faith will support you in such a very sad time.
With prayers for all the family,

  6. As a long time customer of Hillside Esso, I ran into Tom Sr. on numerous occasions. I was always welcomed with a smile and friendly banter. Both my husband and I send our deepest condolences to Tom Jr. and family for your loss.

  7. I am saddened to hear the news. Tom was an honourable man. Tom and my father, George Hurst served together in the Queens Own many years ago and Tom paid tribute at his service when he passed. So many good men, like Tom have left us. This country is a better place because of their sacrifices.
When I was born, I was given my middle name , Martin, after Tom. An honour and representative of the impact he had on his friends. I will remember him fondly and be reminded by my middle initial.
    Rest easy sir.

  10. This is sad news.

I always enjoyed running into Tom. Whether at is garage or at the hockey rink I greatly enjoyed his take on life, work and people. You could always count on Tom to have an honest opinion and he could always back it up with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was a man that could be trusted.

Sincere condolences to Tom Jr (a chip off the old block as it were) and the rest of the family. Senior will be missed.
