  5. While working at New Horizon Holidays, in the 80’s, in Vancouver, I opened a cover letter from Vivi applying to be the part-time sales rep for Vancouver Island. In her opening sentence she stated that her “family comes first” and then went on to cheerfully write why we ought to hire her.

At the interview, in walked an elegant, fashionable, confident and upbeat woman….she was hired on the spot, and so began a friendship that lasted three plus decades.

Vivi included me into her family circle and was more like a sister to me than a friend.
Michael whom she loved dearly was her rock, and together they hosted many group tours
to various locations in the world.

Vivi was proud of her son Peter and daughter Pia. She loved being a grandma and watching her play with Fraser is a memory I’ll always cherish. I’m honoured to have been her friend!
God speed Vivi, until we meet again.

  9. Dear Mike
I am so sorry to see Vivi’s obituary in today’s Times Colonist. She was such a kind, gentle soul and you were always so devoted to her. At the Celebration of Life for Jim Bramley, I ran into Eric Simmons who told me Vivi had not been well. We reminisced about the two of you and what a compatible couple you were. Now she is at peace and you can savour many happy memories. Bless you.
    With much affection,
    Janet Baird
