Colin Grant

Passed away suddenly on October 29, 2011 at 54 years of age. Colin was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on December 10, 1956. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Grant and is lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Sylvia; daughter, Gizelle; son, Cale; mother, Anne Grant; sisters, Anne-Marie (Joe) Durant, Louise (Arnold) Van Heighten and Janet (Jerome) MacPherson; brothers, Danny (Sharon), Billy (Bernadette) and John (Donna); and many close friends and colleagues.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and Monday, November 7, 2011 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL, Blanshard at View Streets on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 12:10 pm.

The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the crew and command of the HMCS Vancouver, 443 (MH) Squadron and many friends and family who have provided their help and support.

It was only 2 years ago that we were celebrating my wedding and I was so fortunate to have you attend, what a wonderful surprise!     On behalf of all the Hockey Teammates who have been luckly enough to spend time with Colin both on, but more importantly off the ice, our heart felt sadness during this difficult time. We all knew Colins passion for the game and his joy in competion. Colin was a hockey players, hockey player, tough and fast. Our thoughts are with you.

  5. I was deeply sadeened to here of your loss. I me Colin on several occasions when I had to be in 443 Sqn. He was always a helpful and pleasant person to deal with, professional in everyway. As a fellow biker, we had a few conversations on that as well. I am very sorry for your loss and hope that all ,the pleasnt memeories that I know you have, will carry you through this sad time.
